MAHINTANA TURNS-OVER HOSPITAL EQUIPMENTS TO SOUTH COTABATO PROVINCIAL HOSPITAL
Mahintana Foundation, Inc. (MFI), spearheaded by Mr. Martiniano L. Magdolot, MFI’s Executive Director, turns-over a total of 10 units of oxygen gauges and 15 units of emergency lights to South Cotabato Provincial Hospital (SCPH) last July 27, 2010. Dr. Conrado Brana, Chief of Hospital, together with his team, received the hospital equipments during the regular Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting held in SCPH.
According to Dr. Brana, the donated hospital equipments were very beneficial to the hospital as SCPH encounters a shortage of oxygen gauges used in the Emergency Room (ER) and that power crisis is being experienced at present. Further, he expressed his appreciation to Mahintana for acting on their request of hospital equipments and vowed to support and strengthen the operation of the Health Plus Shop-in-a-Shop (HPSiS). He added that HPSiS has not only addressed the scarcity of medicines to the poor patients of the hospital but it generated income as well, which eventually would be used for the improvement of hospital facilities. On infrastructure, HPSiS had previously contributed to the following: renovation of HPSiS pharmacy and electrical installation, comfort room construction, and procurement of the hospital’s ER glass door and one (1) computer unit for Philippine Health Insurance Corporation’s (PHIC) billing use. As agreed, profit sharing based on the net income of SCPH-HPSIS is 70% for SCPH and 30% for MFI serving as supervision cost.
The establishment of SCPH-HPSiS is supported by a Memorandum of Agreement signed between the Provincial Government of South Cotabato and MFI. Its primary objective is to complement and address the scarcity of medicines and medical devices in the hospital for the benefit of the poor patients. SCPH-HPSiS is being manned by five (5) hired staff and is operated in two (2) shifts.
