Two growing activities were conducted at the Dry Creek, Purok Maligaya, Brgy. Silway – 8, Polomolok South Cotabato participated by different stakeholders on August 4 and 14, 2019.
The tree growing on the 4th of August was one of the activities during the Supreme Student Government (SSG) Division Leadership Training which was held at Silway-8 National High School and participated by at least 10 different Municipalities of South Cotabato like the Municipality of Tupi, Tampakan, Tantangan, Banga, T’boli, Lake Sebu, Norala, Sto. Niño, Surallah and Polomolok. A total of 210 hills of bamboo were planted in an area of 2 ha.
On the other hand, the activity on the 14th was spearheaded by Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) Silway – 8 and participated by by 61 participants from the members of Pangtawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) and Boy and Girl Scouts of the Philippines from Grades 7, 9 & 10 of Silway – 8 National High School. The group planted 500 hills from bamboo and 300 hills from assorted fruits and forest Trees in an area of 1.5 ha.
