The Silway River-Water Quality Management Area (SR-WQMA) Governing Board Meeting conducted on February 7, 2020 attended by representatives from MENRO/CENRO of LGUs Tupi, T’Boli, Polomolok and Gensan. The meeting aimed to present the 2019 water analysis result and accomplishments, updates on the compliance scheme, remobilization of the SR-WQMA 10-year action plan, and other related matters.
After the presentation of 2019 accomplishments, representatives from Dept. of Human Settlements and Urban Development advised the Sustainable Urban Infrastructure Development (SUID) of Gensan about the settlement areas and inventory of public areas/lands. Also, the DOST-RSTL XII representative encouraged all the members to utilize the Solid Waste Management-related technologies from DOST XII thru grants with minimum financial counterpart. Key agreements include the identification of activities to be conducted on the World Water Day 2020, provision of incentives/compensation for the barangay/purok officials to intensify and catalyze Zero Open Defecation Program, among others.
