Mahintana-DILG XII plan for the online learning exchange on COVID-19 response

Mahintana Foundation Inc. team led by its Executive Director Ms. Liza D. Hora conducted a brief meeting with the DILG XII Regional Director Ms. Josephine C. Leysa on July 6, 2020 at the DILG XII Regional Office, Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City. The meeting, aimed to plan for the online learning exchange, was attended by the 8 participants (Male 3, Female 4). The Mahintana team was composed of Ms. Hora, Program Manager Mr. Jobe C. Tubigon, RESOURCEGov 2 Manager Mr. Roel Ian P. Blanker, and RESOURCEGov Documenter Ms. Lorielyn P. Patoc while other DILG XII participants included Assistant Regional Director Ms. Lailyn A. Ortiz, Project Development Monitoring Unit Head Ms. Herminia S. Ontoy and Development Management Officer II Mr. Ruel B. Tuble.

DILG XII responded to the invitation of Mahintana by expressing their interest to co-sponsor the activity along with the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force-Emerging Infectious Diseases (RIATF-EID) XII and Regional Task Force-COVID19. invite DILG Undersecretary for Plans, Public Affairs and Communications Jonathan Malaya, and the Local Government Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) XII. The online sharing is scheduled on July 22, 2020, 9:00AM thru Zoom.

MFI and MENRO meet for Waste-to-Energy Project Proposal

Mahintana Foundation Inc. and the MENRO-Polomolok conducted a follow-through meeting regarding the Waste-to-Energy Proposal on July 6, 2020 at MFI Conference Room, Cannery Housing, Brgy. Cannery Site, Polomolok.

The meeting agenda focuses on the proposed project’s financials and preparatory activities prior to its implementation. Present in the meeting was Mr. Martiniano Magdolot, Ms. Ella Mae Babao and Mr. Luwee Roy Siacor of MFI and Mr. Eric Leonardo, Mr. Efren Lapinid and Mr. Jaime Lumbos of MENRO-Polomolok. It was discussed that to sustain the project, sure market must be established by tapping potential partners (Pollution Control Association of the Philippines, Inc. (PICAPI) – Polomolok Chapter, industries/companies within Polomolok area) prior to its implementation. Among the key agreements are the following: conduct financials review, meet PCAPI-Polomolok Chapter and Dolefil Pollution Control Officers regarding the proper disposal of special wastes, plan strategy to convince households to pay for garbage fees, revisit the Genar 22 Facility in Laguna for assessment of project feasibility and sustainability in Polomolok, secure a copy of current Waste Analysis and Characterization Study (WACS) data from, and conduct a meeting prior to project presentation to mayor.
