Mahintana launches ADAPT: ODK M&E Tool for partner grower coops

On March 29, 2021, Mahintana Foundation, Inc. through the project on technical assistance to Dolefil pineapple contract growership cooperatives launched the ADAPT (Agricultural Development and Advancement through People and Technologies) System – Phase 1. Dole Philippines, Inc and five grower cooperatives supported the official launching held at Viajera Dine & Cafe, Koronadal, South Cotabato. ADAPT is the the official monitoring and evaluation tool for the coops’ daily field monitoring activities.

Celebrating the launch were 70 cooperative management staff and technicians from five grower cooperatives (1) Landan People’s Multi-Purpose Cooperative headed by Mr. Coskie Sugue Sr., BOD Chairperson and Ms. Edilyn Pabicon, (2) Tupi Integrated Agricultural Cooperative with BOD Chairperson Ms. Edna Guinares and Ms. Angelita Claudio, (3) Polo Samahang Nayon Multi-Purpose Cooperative through their BOD Chairperson Mr. Rolly Demetillo and Manager Ms. Karen Mae Daguro, (4) Laconon 100 Multi-Purpose Cooperative with BOD Chairperson Ms. Rhoda Pecadizo and Manager Agustino Gardoce, and (5) Tboli Farm Growers Multi-Purpose Cooperative with Head Technician Mr. Emerson Espalabra. Dolefil executives supported the event; 14 executives and officers with Mr. Nicholaos Yiannakis, the VP and Managing Director and Mr. Carlos Rodriguez, Agriculture Operations Director.

“If the farmer wins, we all win.” Mr. Yiannakis highlighted in the message of support from Dolefil. Cooperatives BOD chairpersons’ messages of support were expressed, followed by the ceremonial and official announcement of the ADAPT System through Mr. Rodriguez.

The launching event emphasized the significant impact of the system from daily to long term coop activities. The cooperatives shared testimonies from before and on adopting the ADAPT system; the members shared the potential impact to their respective cooperative roles.

Staff and participants observed health and safety protocols in the duration of this event.
