The DENR-EMB XII Silway-Klinan River Water Quality Management Areas (WQMA) Unit, headed by Engr. Bolawan Sambarani, conducted an IEC on February 28, 2017 on Water Pollution, Health and Sanitation, promoting the importance of preserving and protecting the water bodies including the effects of marine pollution and poor sanitation. At least 150 students, teachers and employees of LGU Polomolok, South Cotabato and Polomolok Water District attended the activity.
Mr. Roel Ian Blanker, representing Mahintana Foundation, Inc. shared about the interventions implemented along the Silway and Klinan Rivers and encouraged the students and the academe to take an active role in helping safeguard the natural environment and controlling and/or eliminating marine degradation.
